Waiting for my flight to Barcelona

Source: www.paulickreport.com

While I was writing this, I am sitting at the Cologne Airport waiting for my flight to Barcelona.

For me, airports are one of the most impressive and exciting places in the whole world! Millions of people leave for and arrive at thousands of destinations. I am watching the lane of the security control and this picture seems to me more colourful than a peacock – backpackers, flashpackers, bachelors, honeymoon couples, families and business people one after the other. Hopefully you can imagine this 😀

Why you should start your day without your smartphone

Day by day we spend more than two hours on our smartphone. We have a look on our device more than 150 times per day. However, this revolutionary technology is a huge step forward. But at the same time I feel sometimes a tough step back for the human world. Especially when I enter a train, a restaurant or a bar, I recognize that many people are watching their phones all the time instead of talking to their friends or even perceive the environment. I think that the fact that we simplified our lifes goes hand-in-hand with limitations.

Many people connect travelling to the feeling of pure freedom. You can do whatever you like, spend time wherever you wish and be with whoever you like. Awesome! His grandmother stopped writing her letter and said to her grandson:
I am writing about you, actually, but more important than the words is the pencil I’m using. I hope you will be like this pencil when you grow up.’

The magic of a good conversation

Having a nice talk to someone means so much to me. It gives me a unique opportunity to understand certain topics and the people behind it. You can get a new point of view which is really valuable for your self-development.

Day after day we are in continuous communication with everyone we are surrounded with in a active and passive way. Imagine how incredible it is: every day you are talking to so many different people; your parents, children, close friends, acquaintances, boss, colleagues at work, customers, neighbours, waiter, strangers and so on.

Alright, now lets have a look at a conversation it self. It is one-of-a-kind and never ever happen in this very unique way once again. The reason for it is that you and your interlocutor are the way you are in this very special moment. Both are full of past experiences, knowledge, desires, hopes and expectations. And these can change daily as you might have noticed.

My easy way to switch-off from everyday life – make a short trip!

We are living in a super fast moving world. Between all of these influences, responsibilities, to-do lists and daily rush we don’t take a short time for ourselves. But to have a well-balanced life it is essential to have a rest – to shut down the systems, take a deep breath and feel good.

So, take a bus, a train, an airplane or your car and make a short trip! Move off and visit some lovely friends in a city nearby, be spontaneous and don’t plan anything when you get there. Just get inspired by the city, the way the people live their lifes, by your friends and strangers who might be new friends.
